Remembering the dissenting voices imprisoned during Turkey’s crackdown on free speech.
We will be performing readings by and about imprisoned Turkish writers to mark President Erdogan’s crackdown on dissent after July’s coup. The pieces will be read by James Kelman, Bashabi Fraser, Regi Claire, and Marjorie Lotfi Gill, followed by an open mic slot for the audience. To sign up to read, please email Jean Rafferty at jeanrafferty.fireopal@btopenworld.com with ‘Turkey’ as the subject line.
