Scottish PEN and the Writers At Risk Committee join Brian Johnstone and leading Scottish writers to stand in solidarity with imprisoned writers across the globe. At this event poets appearing at StAnza 2018 will read a selection of poems by imprisoned poets including Irina Ratushinkaya, Liu Xiaobo, Liu Xia and Ahmet Altan.

Writers including Brian Johnstone, Suria Tei, Rachael Boast, Scottish PEN President Carl MacDougall and Polly Atkin will read from selected work and Writers At Risk Committee chair, Jane Archer will outline the committee’s work and what we all can do to defend writers around the world.
