The Scottish PEN Women Writers Committee invites you to a free event celebrating International Women’s Day on Monday 8th March. The committee will use this opportunity to welcome writers to discuss history, talk about the now and welcome the future. We hope to create a warm and welcoming space for women writers to build new connections and find solidarity.

The virtual event will take place via Zoom and is free to attend. The event will include readings from members of Scottish PEN and attendees are welcome to contribute by sharing their own work or reflections. The event will offer attendees a chance to discuss issues including women in leadership, equality in education, and the achievements of women writers in Scotland and around the world.

The event is open to all irrespective of ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, class, income and any other protected characteristics. The committee welcomes trans women, non-binary, inter-sex and gender-fluid people. The committee is strengthened by a diverse range of opinions, experiences and backgrounds.

Zoom joining details will be circulated to attendees via email in advance.
