Scottish PEN is delighted to announce the introduction of a monthly payment option for those wishing to join us in membership. This new subscription is set at £2.75 per month and includes all the same benefits as the Writer membership (£30 fee for a one year membership). We hope this new subscription option will make it easier for writers and supporters to access the full benefits of an annual Scottish PEN membership, without the requirement to pay a yearly rate upfront.
The monthly membership option will be available alongside the existing £15 concessionary membership offer and offers more flexibility for members.
Lisa Clark, Project Manager at Scottish PEN said:
‘The voices of writers are more important than ever as the COVID-19 pandemic heightens the social, economic and political inequalities that shape society. However, we also know that the financial situation of writers and artists in Scotland has become even more precarious.
We hope that the monthly membership subscription will allow many more people to access the benefits of Scottish PEN membership, and that our own work as an organisation can be strengthened as a result.
We look forward to welcoming all new members, and to working together to promote literature, defend freedom of expression and support the talent of writers across Scotland.’
